HJC Helmets: Tech, Riders, Product Lineup

HJC Sports may be a comparatively young cycling brand, established in 2017, but its technical foundation goes back much further. The company is part of HJC Helmets, which has manufactured helmets since 1971 and built its reputation in motorcycle racing, including MotoGP. While many cycling brands rent tunnel time by the hour and rush their aerodynamic testing, HJC’s engineers can afford to be obsessively thorough. They test their road and gravel helmets for drag, noise reduction, and ventilation in a highly controlled environment before the prototypes ever see daylight.

HJC developed a system called COOLPATH, which entirely replaces traditional internal padding across the top of the head with an advanced structural air channel, allowing uninterrupted airflow to keep you remarkably cool. To solve the age-old problem of fiddly helmet dials, they introduced the SELFIT PRO system. This is a spring-loaded, automatic fitting mechanism combined with micro-adjustments that literally adapts to your head shape in real time.

The brand has a rich history in the professional peloton, previously outfitting heavy-hitters like Israel-Premier Tech and the AG2R squads. Currently, HJC is the official helmet partner for the TotalEnergies Pro Cycling Team. HJC’s support extends well beyond the top level.

For 2026, HJC formally partnered with Matt Homes, as he pursued a private program combining major gravel races with selected road events.

What's New and Noteworthy?

The current HJC Sports lineup is a masterclass in blending aggressive speed with everyday usability, spearheaded by the wildly popular Ibex 3 and the aerodynamically optimized Furion 2.0. The Ibex 3 is designed as a featherlight, highly ventilated climbing and all-rounder helmet, while the Furion focuses heavily on minimizing drag for sprinters and flat-road speedsters.
