LOOK Keo Road Pedal Platform
The LOOK Keo platform combines a broad shoe-support area with a relatively compact and lightweight pedal body. It is widely used by recreational riders, endurance cyclists and racers who want a secure road-specific interface without moving to LOOK’s more expensive carbon Blade system.
The LOOK Keo 2 Max Vision Road Pedals preserve the familiar performance characteristics of the standard Keo 2 Max while adding dedicated mounting hardware for the removable Vision modules.
The clipless interface holds the shoe securely against the pedal, helping maintain a consistent foot position during climbing, acceleration and higher-cadence riding. Correctly positioned cleats can also make it easier to reproduce a stable pedalling movement than riding with ordinary footwear on flat pedals.
Wide Stainless-Steel Contact Area
The 500mm² contact platform distributes load across a broad area of the cycling shoe. This helps create a stable base beneath the foot rather than concentrating pressure through a small section of the sole.
The 60mm platform width provides useful lateral support during:
- Seated climbing
- Out-of-saddle acceleration
- Sustained threshold riding
- Fast bunch rides
- Gran fondos
- Long endurance sessions
- Criterium corner exits
A stainless-steel plate protects the primary shoe-contact area from repeated engagement wear. It also creates a durable and consistent support surface without requiring the complete pedal body to be manufactured from metal.
Composite Pedal Body
The composite body keeps the pedal lighter than a conventional full-metal road platform while maintaining the shape and support required for performance cycling.
This construction is one of the principal differences between the LOOK Keo 2 Max Vision Road Pedals and the more expensive LOOK Keo Blade Carbon Ceramic Vision Pedals.
The LOOK Keo 2 Max Vision Road Pedals are designed around value, durability and adjustable spring retention. The premium model uses carbon-composite construction, ceramic bearings and a carbon Blade retention mechanism.
Chromoly Plus Spindle
The Chromoly Plus steel spindle is selected for strength, wear resistance and long-term durability. It passes through a sealed bearing assembly designed to protect the internal surfaces from sweat, road spray and general contamination.
This is particularly relevant for Australian riding, where pedals may be exposed to perspiration, humidity, sudden summer rain and fine road grit.
Adjustable Spring Retention
The LOOK Keo 2 Max Vision Road Pedals use an adjustable metal spring rather than a fixed carbon Blade.
Retention can be adjusted from 8 to 12, allowing riders to select a release feel that suits their experience and riding style.
