Fit Notes

For best safety and comfort, the helmet should sit level on the head, low enough to protect the forehead, with the straps forming a neat “Y” around each ear and the retention system tightened firmly without creating pressure points.

Semi-Aero Road Shape

The Furion 3 is designed for riders who want aerodynamic benefit without the heavy, hot feel of older aero helmets. Its compact profile helps reduce drag while still allowing enough airflow for everyday training and summer riding.

SLID Rotational Impact Protection

HJC’s SLID system is designed to help manage rotational forces during angled impacts. This is important because many real-world cycling crashes involve glancing or sliding impacts rather than a straight vertical hit.

SELFIT PRO Retention System

The updated SELFIT PRO fit system gives riders a more secure and adjustable helmet fit. A stable helmet is especially important during sprinting, descending, rough-road riding and high-speed bunch riding.

COOLPATH Ventilation

COOLPATH ventilation is designed to move air through internal channels and across the rider’s head. This helps improve comfort in hot weather, making the Furion 3 more practical for Queensland summer rides than many traditional aero helmets.

EPS and Polycarbonate Shell Construction

The helmet uses a protective polycarbonate outer shell bonded to an EPS impact-absorbing liner. This construction helps balance impact protection, low weight and durability for regular road use.

Reinforced Internal Structure

The internal reinforcement structure is designed to help the helmet retain its integrity during impact, improving protection and adding confidence for riders using the helmet in racing and high-speed training.

IONIC+ Antibacterial Padding

The IONIC+ padding helps manage sweat and odour, which is useful for riders training frequently in warm and humid conditions.

Available Helmet Sizes

Small

Head circumference: 51–56cm
Best for smaller adult riders and some junior-to-adult transition riders

Medium

Head circumference: 55–59cm
Common fit for many adult riders

Large

Head circumference: 58–63cm
Best for riders needing a larger shell and greater internal volume

Fit Recommendation

Measure around the widest part of the head, roughly 1–2cm above the eyebrows. If you are between sizes, consider head shape, hair volume, cycling cap use and preferred fit tension.

Fit Checklist

Helmet sits level and does not tilt backwards
Front edge sits close to the eyebrows without blocking vision
Rear dial feels secure without causing pressure
Side straps sit evenly around both ears
Chin strap is snug but not restrictive
Helmet does not shift excessively when shaking the head
Sunglasses fit securely with the straps and helmet shell

For local conditions, the COOLPATH ventilation is particularly useful. Brisbane riders often need a helmet that can stay comfortable in heat and humidity while still offering aero benefits for fast roads, sprint efforts and bunch riding.

Product Care

Clean the helmet with mild soap and water only.
Avoid harsh chemicals, solvents or degreasers.
Do not leave the helmet in excessive heat, such as inside a hot car.
Remove and wash pads regularly, especially after sweaty rides.
Allow padding and straps to air dry fully before storage.
Inspect the shell, liner and straps regularly for cracks, dents or damage.
Replace the helmet after any crash or significant impact.
Do not drill, paint, cut or modify the helmet.
Store in the supplied helmet bag when travelling.
Check strap tension and retention dial adjustment before every ride.

Warranty Information

Warranty coverage is subject to HJC or retailer terms and conditions.
Warranty generally applies to manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship.
Crash damage, impact damage, misuse, heat damage, modification, normal wear and accidental damage are generally not covered.
Helmets should be replaced after a crash, even if damage is not visible.
Many riders replace helmets every 3–5 years depending on use, condition, storage and exposure.
