Fit Notes

For best safety and comfort, the helmet should sit level on the head, low on the forehead without blocking vision, with the side straps forming a neat “Y” around each ear and the chin strap sitting snugly under the jaw.

Semi-Aero Race Profile

The Furion 3 is shaped for riders who want aerodynamic benefit without the overheating penalty often associated with older aero road helmets. Its compact outer profile helps reduce drag during sprinting, solo turns, criterium racing and fast bunch rides.

SLID Rotational Impact Protection

HJC’s SLID system is designed to help manage rotational forces that can occur in angled impacts. This is important because many real-world cycling crashes involve glancing, twisting or sliding motion rather than a straight vertical impact.

SELFIT PRO Retention System

The SELFIT PRO fit system provides a secure and stable helmet fit with rear dial adjustment. A secure fit is especially important during sprinting, descending, rough-road riding and high-speed group cycling.

COOLPATH Ventilation

COOLPATH airflow channels are designed to move air across the head and through the helmet more efficiently. This helps make the Furion 3 more suitable for warm-weather training, humid Brisbane mornings and longer Queensland road rides.

EPS and Polycarbonate Construction

The helmet combines an EPS impact liner with a durable polycarbonate outer shell. This construction balances impact absorption, low weight and day-to-day durability for serious road cycling use.

IONIC+ Antibacterial Padding

The IONIC+ padding helps manage sweat and odour, which is useful for riders training frequently in hot or humid conditions.

Silver Red Finish

The Silver Red colourway gives the helmet a distinctive race-inspired look. It pairs well with modern road kits, carbon bikes and performance cycling apparel while adding more visual presence than plain black or grey options.

Available Helmet Sizes

Small

Head circumference: 51–56cm
Best for smaller adult riders and some junior-to-adult transition riders

Medium

Head circumference: 55–59cm

Large

Fit Recommendation

Measure around the widest part of the head, approximately 1–2cm above the eyebrows. If you are between sizes, consider head shape, hair volume, cycling cap use and how snug you prefer your helmet to feel.

Fit Checklist

Helmet sits level and does not tilt backward
Front edge sits close to the eyebrows without blocking vision
Rear dial holds securely without pressure points
Side straps sit evenly around the ears
Chin strap is firm but comfortable
Helmet does not shift excessively when shaking the head
Sunglasses fit cleanly with the helmet and straps

Best Suited For

Road racers
Criterium riders
Fast bunch ride cyclists
Endurance road riders
Gran Fondo riders
Triathletes using road bike setups
Riders upgrading from entry-level helmets
Brisbane cyclists wanting a lightweight aero road helmet

Product Care

Clean the helmet with mild soap and water only.
Avoid harsh chemicals, solvents or degreasers.
Do not leave the helmet in excessive heat, such as inside a hot car.
Remove and wash pads regularly after sweaty rides.
Allow pads and straps to air dry fully before storage.
Inspect the shell, liner and straps regularly for cracks, dents or damage.
Replace the helmet after any crash or significant impact.
Do not drill, paint, cut or modify the helmet.
Store in the supplied helmet bag when travelling.
Check strap tension and retention dial adjustment before every ride.

Warranty Information

Warranty coverage is subject to HJC or retailer terms and conditions.
Warranty generally applies to manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship.
Crash damage, impact damage, misuse, heat damage, modification, normal wear and accidental damage are generally not covered.
Helmets should be replaced after a crash, even if damage is not visible.
Many riders replace helmets every 3–5 years depending on use, condition, storage and exposure.

Reviewers have highlighted:

Lightweight feel for a semi-aero road helmet
Better airflow than many older aero helmets
Comfortable fit once correctly adjusted
Secure retention system for fast riding
SLID rotational impact protection
Strong value compared with many premium aero helmets

The general industry view is that the Furion 3 sits in a very practical category: aero enough for racing and fast bunch rides, but ventilated enough for regular training and warm-weather road cycling.

Rider Feedback & Community Sentiment

Rider feedback around the Furion 3 is generally positive, especially from cyclists wanting a race-style helmet that does not feel overly hot or bulky.

Common positive comments include:

Comfortable fit after proper adjustment
Lightweight feel on longer rides
Strong airflow for a semi-aero helmet
Stable fit when sprinting or descending
Sleek and premium styling
Good value compared with many top-tier aero helmets
Works well for racing and everyday fast riding
Silver Red colourway stands out without looking excessive

Some riders note that fit is head-shape dependent, which is true of all helmets. Correct sizing and adjustment are essential.

Why We Love It at Pedal Passion

For Brisbane cyclists wanting one helmet for bunch rides, racing, climbing and weekend road adventures, the Furion 3 is a stylish and practical upgrade.
