Compatibility Notes:

The Overfast Carbon Thru-Axles are frame-specific and must be ordered to match the exact bike brand, model and year.
Thread pitch, axle length and head design vary between bike brands and frame generations.
They are not universal thru-axles.
Incorrect axle length or thread pitch can damage the frame or compromise wheel security.
Some models are built to order or pre-order only.
Professional fitment is recommended if the axle specification is unknown.

Carbon Fibre Shaft

The Overfast Carbon Thru-Axles use a carbon shaft to dramatically reduce weight compared with conventional steel or aluminium thru-axles. This makes them well suited to high-end road bikes where reducing rotating and structural hardware weight matters.

Aluminium Threaded Section

The aluminium threaded section provides a precise interface with the frame dropout or fork insert. It keeps the axle light while retaining a secure threaded connection when matched to the correct frame specification.

Titanium Hex-Socket Insert

The titanium hex-socket insert adds durability at the tool interface. This is important because very lightweight parts can be vulnerable to tool wear if the socket area is not properly reinforced. The titanium insert improves long-term usability for riders and mechanics.

Patented Carbon-Alloy Bond

The critical carbon-to-alloy joint uses a patented mechanical bond supported by adhesive bonding. This is designed to prevent separation under torque and tensile loads, which is essential for a safety-critical wheel-retention component.

High Tensile Strength

The Overfast Carbon Thru-Axles are quoted with tensile strength above 950kgf. This gives riders more confidence that the weight saving is not achieved by simply removing material without structural engineering.

EN and UCI Testing

The Overfast Carbon Thru-Axles are promoted as EN and UCI tested, making them more credible for competitive road cyclists, racers and weight-conscious riders who still care about safety.

Fit Checklist Before Purchase

Before ordering, confirm:

Exact frame brand
Exact frame model
Exact model year or generation
Front axle length
Rear axle length
Thread pitch
Axle diameter
Head style and tool interface compatibility
Whether the frame uses special plugs, washers or proprietary axle hardware
Whether your bike manufacturer specifies axle torque requirements

Installation Notes

Thread the axle by hand first to avoid cross-threading.
Use a torque wrench.
Do not use incorrect assembly paste if the product instructions advise against it.
Make sure the tool is fully inserted into the hex socket before tightening or loosening.
Do not force an axle if thread engagement feels wrong.
Check wheel alignment and brake rotor clearance after installation.
Recheck torque after the first ride if recommended.

It is a statement piece.

The Overfast Carbon Thru-Axles are best suited to road cyclists who want a serious lightweight upgrade for a premium disc brake road bike and are comfortable using frame-specific performance parts.

Product Care

Use a properly fitting hex tool.
Insert the tool fully before tightening or loosening.
Use a calibrated torque wrench.
Follow the frame or axle torque recommendation.
Do not over-tighten.
Keep axle threads clean and lightly prepared according to manufacturer guidance.
Do not force installation if the thread feels wrong.
Avoid incompatible assembly compounds if warned against.
Inspect the carbon shaft and threaded section after crashes or transport impacts.
Check axle torque during regular road bike servicing.
Keep brake rotors aligned after wheel removal and installation.
Replace the axle if there is visible damage, cracking, thread wear or tool-interface damage.

Warranty Information

Warranty coverage is subject to Overfast or retailer terms and conditions.
Warranty generally applies to manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship.
Incorrect fitment, cross-threading, over-torquing, crash damage, tool damage, incompatible frame selection, misuse and normal wear are generally not covered.
Axle life depends on correct specification, installation quality, torque accuracy, riding conditions and maintenance habits.
Professional installation is strongly recommended for safety, especially on premium road disc bikes.

Road.cc reviewed the Overfast Ultralight Thru Axles in June 2025 and described them as a very light, highly distinctive upgrade for weight-focused riders. The review recorded a weight of around 33g and noted that the axles survived two months of riding without issues, while also pointing out that the upgrade is expensive for the number of grams saved.

Why We Love It at Pedal Passion

They are not the first part every rider needs, but on a premium lightweight build they make sense: clean, light, engineered and beautifully specific.
