Notable Tech, Materials & Construction

Isotonic Energy Delivery

The key advantage of SiS GO Isotonic Gel is that it is formulated to be close to the body’s natural fluid balance. This helps the gel empty from the stomach efficiently and makes it easier to consume during exercise without needing extra water.

Fast Carbohydrate Support

Each 60ml gel provides approximately 22g of carbohydrate, helping top up energy stores during longer rides, high-intensity sessions and events where glycogen depletion can affect performance.

No-Water-Needed Format

Traditional thick gels often need water to dilute them and assist digestion. SiS GO Isotonic Gel is designed to be taken directly from the sachet, which is useful during racing, bunch rides, climbing efforts and hot-weather training where drinking at the same moment is not always ideal.

Single-Serve Sachet Design

The compact 60ml packet fits easily into jersey pockets, top tube bags, bento boxes, running belts, hydration packs and saddle bags. It is simple to open while riding and easy to plan into a fuelling schedule.

Variety Pack Advantage

The 7-pack format is ideal for riders who want to test multiple flavours before committing to a box. This is especially useful because flavour preference and stomach comfort are personal, particularly during long or hot rides.

Race-Proven Sports Nutrition

SiS is a long-established endurance nutrition brand used across cycling, triathlon, running and elite sport. Their GO Isotonic Gel range is popular because it is simple, portable and easy to digest for many riders.
Size, Fit, Geometry & Measurements

Pack Format

  • Pack Quantity: 7 gels
  • Gel Volume: 60ml each
  • Total Volume: 420ml across the pack
  • Carbohydrate Per Gel: Approximately 22g
  • Approximate Total Carbohydrate Per Pack: Around 154g
  • Format: Tear-open single-serve sachets

Carry Guide

A typical rider may carry:

  • 1 gel for short high-intensity sessions or emergency energy
  • 2 to 3 gels for 2-hour training rides
  • 3 to 5 gels for longer endurance rides, depending on food and drink plan
  • More gels for racing, gran fondos, gravel events or triathlon when used as part of a structured nutrition plan

Fuelling Guide

General endurance fuelling guidelines often suggest:

  • Take 1 gel every 20 to 45 minutes during longer or harder exercise, depending on intensity and total carbohydrate target.
  • Aim for roughly 30g to 60g carbohydrate per hour for many endurance rides.
  • Well-trained athletes may use higher carbohydrate intakes when gut-trained and combining multiple fuel sources.
  • Practise nutrition during training before using gels in an event.
Who it is best suited for and where it is best suited

The SiS GO Isotonic Gel Variety Pack is best suited to riders and endurance athletes who want portable, easy-to-consume energy without the heaviness of solid food.

Best Suited For

  • Road cyclists doing long bunch rides
  • Gravel riders and bikepackers needing compact fuel
  • MTB riders on longer trail sessions
  • Triathletes and runners

This gel format works especially well in Queensland because heat, humidity and long climbs can make solid food harder to eat. The isotonic texture is easier for many riders to consume during high-intensity or warm-weather sessions.

Industry & Rider Feedback. A few Comparison Options

220 Triathlon, 2019 nutrition testing and buyer coverage has consistently rated isotonic gels like SiS GO as useful endurance fuelling options because they are easy to consume, gentle for many athletes and do not require water at the same moment.

BikeRadar, endurance nutrition guidance, 2023-2025 coverage commonly recommends practising gel use during training and choosing products that are easy to digest under effort, which is where isotonic gels are often favoured by cyclists and triathletes.

Science in Sport product information, current manufacturer listing positions GO Isotonic Gel as a fast, convenient carbohydrate gel designed to provide energy during exercise without needing additional water.

Rider Feedback & Community Sentiment

Rider feedback around SiS GO Isotonic Gels is generally very positive, especially from cyclists and runners who prefer a thinner gel texture.

Common positive rider comments include:

  • Easier to take than thicker gels
  • Does not require water immediately
  • Good flavour variety for training and events
  • Gentle on the stomach for many riders
  • Convenient for jersey pockets and race belts
  • Reliable energy boost during long rides
  • Useful for pacing nutrition during endurance events
  • Great variety pack for testing favourite flavours

Some riders note that the sachets are larger than very concentrated gels because the isotonic formula includes more fluid volume. For most riders, that trade-off is worthwhile because the gel is easier to swallow and digest.
