Warranty Policy
At PedalPassion, we stand behind the quality of the products we sell. This Warranty Policy outlines the warranty coverage available for products purchased from our store or website, including both manufacturer warranties and our own store warranty where applicable.
Our warranty policy operates alongside your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Under the ACL, products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded. You are entitled to a remedy if a product fails to meet these consumer guarantees.
Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
For major failures with the product, you are entitled to:
- Reject the product and receive a full refund, or
- Exchange the product for a new one
For minor failures, we may offer to:
- Repair the product
- Replace the product
- Refund the purchase price
Most products sold by PedalPassion come with a manufacturer's warranty. The terms, duration, and coverage of manufacturer warranties vary by brand and product type.
Bicycle Frame Warranties
Bicycle frames typically come with extended warranty coverage from the manufacturer.
Below is a general guide to frame warranty periods (specific terms vary by manufacturer):

- Carbon Frames 3-10 years (varies by brand)
- Aluminium Frames 5-10 years
- Steel Frames Lifetime (some brands)
- Titanium Frames Lifetime
- Suspension Frames 2-5 years
Important: Frame warranties are typically offered to the original owner only and are not transferable. Warranty coverage may be void if:
- The bicycle has been used for competitive racing (unless specifically covered)
- The bicycle has been modified or repaired by an unauthorised person
- The bicycle has been damaged due to misuse, accident, or neglect
- The bicycle was not assembled by a professional mechanic
Component Warranties
Bicycle components typically carry the following warranty periods:

- Brakes 1-2 years
- Wheels 1-2 years
- Suspension Forks 1-2 years

Parts and Accessories Warranties
Individual parts and accessories typically come with warranties ranging from 3 months to 2 years, depending on the manufacturer and product type.
Consumables and Wear Items
The following items are considered consumables and typically have limited or no warranty coverage:
- Brake pads
- Chains
- Cables and housing
- Tyres and tubes
- Grips and bar tape
- Lubricants and cleaners
- Batteries (unless defective upon purchase)
Wear and tear on these items is not covered by warranty.
In addition to manufacturer warranties, PedalPassion offers the following store warranty on complete bicycles purchased from us:
Free First Service
All new bicycles purchased from PedalPassion include one free basic service within the first 3 months of purchase. This service includes:
- Safety check
- Brake and gear adjustment
- Bolt tension check
- Tyre pressure adjustment
- Lubrication of chain and moving parts
To claim your free first service, simply bring your bicycle and proof of purchase to our Brisbane store.
Exclusions:
- Parts replacement (only labour is covered)
- Damage due to misuse, accident, or neglect
- Normal wear and tear
- Services performed by other bike shops
Step 1: Determine Your Claim Type
Before submitting a warranty claim, please determine whether your issue is covered:
Covered by Warranty:
- Manufacturing defects
- Material defects
- Component failure under normal use
- Workmanship issues
Not Covered by Warranty:
- Normal wear and tear
- Damage from crashes, accidents, or misuse
- Damage from improper assembly or maintenance
- Cosmetic damage that does not affect function
- Damage from exposure to extreme conditions
- Unauthorised modifications or repairs
Step 2: Gather Information
To process your warranty claim efficiently, please prepare:
- Proof of purchase (receipt, order confirmation, or bank statement)
- Product name, model, and serial number (where applicable)
- Clear photographs or video showing the issue
- Description of the problem and when it occurred
Step 3: Contact Us
Submit your warranty claim by emailing us at hello [at] pedalpassion.cc with:
- Your order number
- Photographs of the issue
- A detailed description of the problem
- Your contact information
Alternatively, bring your bicycle or product to our Brisbane store with your proof of purchase.
Step 4: Assessment and Resolution
Once we receive your warranty claim:
- We will assess the claim within 5-10 business days
- We may need to inspect the product in-store
- For complex claims, we may need to contact the manufacturer
- We will inform you of the outcome and next steps
- Resolution Options: Depending on the nature of the issue and manufacturer policies, we may offer:
- Repair of the defective part or product
- Replacement of the defective part or product
- A refund or store credit (for major failures)
Warranty Claim Outcomes
Approved Claims:
- We will repair or replace the product at no cost to you
- If a repair is not possible, we will offer a replacement or refund
- Warranty repairs typically take 2-4 weeks depending on parts availability
Denied Claims:
- We will explain why the claim was denied
- We may offer a paid repair option
- You may request a second opinion from the manufacturer directly
For Online Customers:
- You are responsible for shipping costs to return the product to us
- If the warranty claim is approved, we will cover return shipping costs
- For large items (complete bicycles), contact us to discuss options
For Approved Claims:
- We may offer to cover reasonable return shipping costs within Australia
- International customers are responsible for all shipping costs
Some products may be eligible for extended warranty or protection plans. These are offered at an additional cost at the time of purchase. If you have purchased an extended warranty, please refer to the specific terms provided with your plan.
Some bicycle brands work with third-party warranty providers. In these cases, we will facilitate the warranty process but the final decision rests with the manufacturer or their authorised representative.
Unless otherwise stated by the manufacturer, warranties are typically:
- Valid for the original purchaser only
- Non-transferable to subsequent owners
- Tied to the original proof of purchase
We recommend registering your bicycle or product with the manufacturer after purchase. Many brands offer online registration, which can:
- Activate extended warranty periods (where offered)
- Simplify future warranty claims
- Provide access to product updates and safety notices
