Compatibility warning

The SRAM Force XPLR AXS E1 Rear Derailleur is designed around the matching SRAM XPLR 10-46T 13-speed cassette. It is not intended for the previous 12-speed 10-44T XPLR cassette, standard SRAM road cassettes, SRAM Eagle mountain bike cassettes or T-Type chains.

A bicycle fitted with a conventional UDH hanger is not automatically compatible. The frame itself must be approved for hangerless SRAM Full Mount installation.

Full Mount hangerless construction

The SRAM Force XPLR AXS E1 Rear Derailleur attaches to both sides of the frame’s rear dropout and is secured around the rear axle. Removing the conventional derailleur hanger creates a more direct and repeatable relationship between the derailleur, cassette and rear wheel.

Traditional derailleur hangers can bend slightly during a crash, transport incident or impact. Even a small alignment change can reduce shifting accuracy across a closely spaced cassette. Full Mount removes that variable and distributes impact forces around the axle and dropout structure.

This construction is particularly valuable on gravel bikes exposed to rocks, sticks, deep ruts, corrugated roads and rough transport. It does not make the derailleur indestructible, but it is designed to provide greater structural support and more consistent alignment than a lightweight road-style hanger system.

Straight parallelogram architecture

The derailleur moves along a controlled shift path developed specifically for the matching 13-speed cassette. When installed correctly, its normal range of movement cannot carry the derailleur into the rear wheel.

This reduces reliance on conventional limit screws and helps protect the wheel from adjustment-related overshifting. Correct wheel, axle, cassette and derailleur installation remain essential.

Screw-free setup

There are no conventional high-limit, low-limit or B-tension adjustment screws. The Full Mount interface and matched cassette establish the derailleur’s position, while SRAM’s installation sequence determines the remaining setup.

The design reduces the number of mechanical adjustments that can move or be set incorrectly. Correct chain selection, chain length and axle installation are still critical.

Electronic micro-adjustment remains available for fine-tuning shift indexing. It should not be used to compensate for incorrect assembly, a damaged frame interface or incompatible drivetrain parts.

SRAM AXS wireless shifting

SRAM AXS sends shift commands wirelessly from compatible controls to the derailleur. This eliminates mechanical gear-cable stretch, contaminated housing and cable-routing friction.

Carbon and aluminium cage

The derailleur cage combines carbon and aluminium to balance stiffness, weight, durability and replacement cost. This is a more practical construction than the full-carbon cage and ceramic bearings used on the premium SRAM RED XPLR version.

Steel pulley bearings

The pulley wheels use steel bearings, providing a dependable balance of smooth performance, durability and reasonable replacement cost. They are well suited to dusty Australian gravel conditions when cleaned regularly and protected from direct pressure washing.
