Cannondale has always been happiest when questioning the usual way of building a bike. Its latest road and gravel machines continue that tradition, combining serious aerodynamic development with practical tyre clearance, rider-specific carbon construction and plenty of feedback from racers who are exceptionally good at finding a bike’s weaknesses. Their research and development labs in Connecticut and Freiburg, Germany, are essentially playgrounds for engineers who refuse to accept traditional bicycle design.
On the tarmac, their R&D heavily utilises Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and exhaustive wind tunnel testing. This led to the recent release of the fourth-generation SuperSix EVO and the ultra-premium LAB71 tier. LAB71 is Cannondale's skunkworks division, utilising a proprietary "Series 0" carbon layup that shaves off significant weight (dropping the frame to a remarkably light 740 grams) while preserving explosive power transfer.
Depending on specification, total system weight is approximately 148 grams lower than before, while the lightest complete build is claimed at roughly 6.4 kilograms.

Cannondale’s principal professional partnerships are EF Education-EasyPost and EF Education-Oatly, the men’s and women’s teams within EF Pro Cycling.
A strong grassroots case study is Cannondale’s involvement in the EF Education First-ONTO junior program. Based in Greenville, South Carolina, ONTO began in 2014 and entered its eleventh year as the junior development arm for emerging North American talent.
ONTO’s support extends beyond providing race bikes. The program manages coaching, mechanical assistance, logistics, travel, event entry and accommodation, all of which are substantial barriers for junior riders and their families.
What's New and Noteworthy?
The biggest new road release is the fifth-generation SuperSix EVO. It remains Cannondale’s all-round race bike, but it is lighter, slightly more aggressive and more aerodynamically refined than the previous model. LAB71, Hi-MOD and standard carbon versions allow riders and teams to select a sensible balance of weight, specification and price. The new cockpit is available in narrower widths, tyre clearance has grown for modern road rubber, and the aerodynamic bottle cages can accept ordinary bottles when a replacement is needed.
