Redesigned hood and lever architecture

SRAM developed the E1 control shape using more than four years of rider feedback. The revised body provides better support beneath the palm and allows more secure finger wrap around the front of the hood.

The shape is intended to accommodate a broader range of hand sizes while reducing the possibility of fingers becoming trapped between the lever and handlebar during hard braking. It also makes strong braking more accessible from the hoods, where road and gravel riders spend most of their time

One-finger hydraulic braking

The redesigned lever and hydraulic architecture reduce the hand force required to apply the brake. Riders can generate meaningful stopping power with one finger from either the hoods or drops, leaving the remaining fingers securely wrapped around the handlebar.
