Notable Tech, Materials & Construction

TPU Lightweight Construction

RideNow uses thermoplastic polyurethane rather than standard butyl rubber. TPU allows the tube to be made thinner, lighter and more compact while still providing useful strength and air retention when installed correctly.

Lower Rotating Weight

Compared with standard gravel butyl tubes, TPU tubes can significantly reduce rotating mass. This can make the bike feel livelier when accelerating, climbing or riding rolling gravel roads.

Compact Pack Size

One of the biggest advantages of TPU is how small it packs. The RideNow Gravel TPU tube is ideal for saddle bags, tool rolls, frame storage, bar bags and jersey pockets, especially on longer gravel rides where carrying multiple spares is sensible.

Gravel-Specific Volume Range

The 700 x 32-47C size range suits modern gravel, all-road and cyclocross tyres. It gives riders flexibility across faster 32-35mm all-road tyres through to larger 40-47mm gravel setups.

Black Aluminium Presta Valve

The black alloy valve gives the tube a clean, premium look and pairs well with modern carbon, alloy and deep-section gravel wheels. The valve area is also one of the most important parts of any TPU tube, so correct installation and pump-head care matter.

Performance Alternative to Butyl

For riders who do not want the maintenance of tubeless sealant, TPU tubes offer a simple way to save weight and improve packability while keeping the familiar convenience of a traditional inner tube setup.

  • Your wheel uses a Presta valve rim hole.
  • Your selected valve length suits your rim depth.
  • Your rim tape is smooth, secure and undamaged.
  • Your tyre casing is free from sharp debris or internal cuts.
  • Your tyre pressure is suitable for rider weight, tyre size and terrain.

Installation Notes

  • Add only a small amount of air before installation so the tube takes shape.
  • Do not inflate hard outside the tyre.
  • Avoid metal tyre levers where possible.
  • Check that the tube is not trapped under the bead.
  • Inflate gradually and inspect both sides of the tyre as pressure increases.
  • TPU tubes need more care during installation than standard butyl tubes.
