High-Ventilation Road Design

The Ibex 3 is designed for riders who want airflow first. With large vents and internal cooling channels, it is better suited to hot climbs and long endurance rides than a full aero helmet.

COOLPATH Airflow Technology

COOLPATH replaces some traditional pad contact areas with internal airflow channels, allowing air to move more freely around the head. This helps reduce heat build-up during humid Brisbane mornings, long climbs and summer training rides.

SLID Rotational Impact Protection

HJC’s SLID system is designed to help reduce rotational impact energy in angled crashes. This gives the helmet a modern safety platform suited to real-world cycling accidents where impacts are often glancing or twisting.

SELFIT PRO Fit System

SELFIT PRO combines HJC’s automatic fit concept with a rear micro-adjustment dial. It allows the rider to fine-tune helmet tension while maintaining a stable fit during climbing, descending and rough-road riding.

Lightweight EPS and Polycarbonate Construction

The helmet uses an EPS impact liner with a protective polycarbonate outer shell, giving a strong balance of low weight, impact absorption and day-to-day durability.

IONIC+ Antibacterial Padding

The IONIC+ pads help manage sweat and odour, which is especially useful for riders training frequently in warm Australian conditions.

MT GL Black Finish

The MT GL Black colourway gives the helmet a sharp, refined appearance that pairs easily with most cycling kits, carbon road bikes and performance eyewear.

Warranty Information

Warranty coverage is subject to HJC or retailer terms and conditions.
Warranty generally applies to manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship.
Crash damage, impact damage, misuse, heat damage, modification, normal wear and accidental damage are generally not covered.
Helmets should always be replaced after a crash, even if damage is not visible.
Many riders replace helmets every 3–5 years depending on use, storage, exposure and condition.

Road.cc, January 2026, reviewed the HJC Ibex 3 and gave it a strong rating, praising its secure deep fit, impressive finish quality, strong ventilation and overall comfort. The review noted that it is not the absolute lightest helmet in its category, but it feels reassuring, well built and highly adjustable.

RAW Cycling Magazine, March 2024, tested the Ibex 3 over a longer period and highlighted its comfort, ventilation, fit system and premium feel. The review praised the SELFIT PRO system for easy adjustment and the COOLPATH system for noticeable airflow during hot and intense rides.

Cobbles Cycling, May 2025, also reviewed the Ibex 3 positively, noting that the helmet felt stable on rough surfaces, comfortable for long rides and genuinely effective in warm conditions thanks to its ventilation system.

Why We Love It at Pedal Passion

We love the HJC Ibex 3 because it makes sense for Australian riding. Queensland cyclists need a helmet that can stay comfortable in heat, handle long climbs, remain secure at speed and still look sharp.
