The SystemBar Road uses deep, truncated-airfoil upper sections designed to present a cleaner shape to the airflow than a traditional round road handlebar. This approach allows Cannondale to create a relatively deep aerodynamic profile without making the cockpit unnecessarily long from front to back.

The narrow upper widths also help reduce the rider’s frontal area. At typical road cycling speeds, the rider accounts for most of the total aerodynamic drag, so a narrower hood position can provide a meaningful real-world advantage when the position remains comfortable and sustainable.

One-piece carbon construction

The handlebar and stem are manufactured as a single carbon unit. Removing the conventional faceplate, handlebar clamp and associated bolts gives the cockpit a smooth central profile while reducing the number of separate structural interfaces.

Fit considerations

The 340 mm cockpit creates a notably narrow hood position and will primarily suit racers accustomed to contemporary aerodynamic bike fitting. It is not automatically the best choice simply because it offers the smallest frontal area.

The 360 mm option provides a narrow race position while retaining a familiar 400 mm stance in the drops. For many competitive riders, this may offer the most balanced combination of aerodynamics, control and comfort.

The 380 mm option produces an approximately 420 mm drop position, making it suitable for riders who want a moderate upper width with additional leverage below the brake hoods.

The Cannondale SystemBar Road is designed for performance-minded road cyclists who want a genuinely aerodynamic cockpit and already have a confirmed race-bike position.
