Synthetic Leather Touch Surface

The Leather Touch outer layer is designed to mimic the tactile feel of leather while using modern synthetic materials for improved durability, grip and weather resistance. It gives riders a refined hand feel without the maintenance needs of genuine leather tape.

Anti-Slip Grip Texture

The textured surface helps maintain hand security during sprinting, descending, climbing out of the saddle and riding in humid or sweaty conditions. This is especially useful for Brisbane summer rides where grip can become more important during long climbs or high-intensity bunch rides.

Multi-Layer High-Density Foam

The laminated foam backing provides progressive shock absorption and vibration damping. This helps reduce hand fatigue on rough chip-seal roads, coarse bitumen and longer endurance rides.

3mm Comfort Profile

At 3mm thick, this tape sits in a sweet spot between comfort and bar feel. It offers more cushioning than thin race tape while still keeping the cockpit responsive and controlled.

Organic Adhesive Backing

The lightweight elastic adhesive helps the tape stay in place while allowing installation adjustment. It is designed to remove without leaving heavy residue, making future bar tape replacement and cockpit servicing easier.

Reusable Lock-In Bar Plugs

The included expanding lock-in plugs help keep the tape ends secure and reduce the chance of bar plugs working loose during riding, transport or rough-road use.

Elastic Finishing Tape

The supplied finishing tape is designed to resist deformation, softening or degradation in changing weather and temperature conditions, which is useful for Australian heat, humidity and wet-weather riding.

Fit and Wrapping Notes

This tape is suitable for most standard drop bars, including road, endurance road, all-road and gravel handlebars.

Fit Recommendation

For best results:

Clean old adhesive from the handlebar before wrapping.
Start from the bar end and wrap toward the stem.
Maintain even tension without overstretching.
Overlap each wrap consistently for uniform thickness and grip.
Use the included finishing tape for a clean cockpit finish.
Install bar plugs securely after wrapping.

For integrated cockpits, aero bars, flared gravel bars or premium custom builds, professional installation is recommended for a tidy and symmetrical finish.

The Ciclovation Leather Touch bar tape is best suited to cyclists who want a stylish, comfortable and durable handlebar tape upgrade for road, endurance and all-road riding.

Best Suited For

Road cyclists upgrading worn or slippery bar tape
Endurance riders wanting extra comfort on long rides
Fast bunch ride cyclists wanting better grip and cockpit feel
Gravel and all-road riders using drop bars
Commuters wanting durable, easy-clean bar tape
Riders building a custom road bike cockpit
Brisbane cyclists booking a handlebar tape replacement or road bike service

Product Care

Clean gently with a damp cloth and mild soap.
Avoid harsh degreasers, solvents or abrasive brushes.
Wipe down after sweaty summer rides.
Allow tape to dry naturally after rain or washing.
Replace tape if it becomes torn, loose, heavily worn or slippery.
Check bar plugs regularly to ensure they remain secure.
Avoid over-stretching during installation.
Re-wrap if tape shifts or bunches near the hoods.
Inspect handlebar condition when replacing tape.
Consider replacing bar tape during major bike services or cockpit adjustments.

Warranty Information

Warranty coverage is subject to Ciclovation or retailer terms and conditions.
Warranty generally applies to manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship.
Normal wear, faded graphics, crash damage, poor installation, cuts, contamination, adhesive wear and cosmetic surface wear are generally not covered.
Decorative graphics may fade or wear with use, especially in hand-contact areas.
Professional installation is recommended for clean appearance, correct tension and long-term security.

For Brisbane and Queensland riders, we recommend replacing bar tape regularly as part of road bike servicing, especially if riding in hot weather, rain, high-sweat conditions or rough roads. Fresh bar tape improves comfort, grip, hygiene and the overall feel of the bike.

Ciclovation’s Leather Touch range is regularly stocked by performance bike shops and is commonly positioned as a premium comfort and style upgrade for road and gravel riders.

Bike shop product feedback generally highlights:

Supple leather-like hand feel
Reliable grip in dry and sweaty conditions
Useful vibration damping from the foam backing
Clean installation due to manageable adhesive backing
Distinctive patterns for custom bike builds
Good value compared with many boutique premium bar tapes

Rider Feedback & Community Sentiment

Rider sentiment around Ciclovation Leather Touch bar tape is generally positive, especially from cyclists looking for comfort and visual customisation.

Common positive rider comments include:

Comfortable hand feel on longer rides
Good grip without feeling overly tacky
Stylish designs that make a bike look more custom
Nice cushioning for rough roads
Easy to clean compared with some suede-style tapes
Secure bar end plugs
Good match for premium road and gravel bikes
Strong upgrade from basic stock bar tape

Some riders note that printed surface graphics may wear over time, especially in high-contact areas. This is expected with decorative patterned tape and does not usually affect grip or performance.
