Aerion EVO Carbon Rim Platform

The Overfast Aerion EVO Series Disc Brake Road Bike Wheelset is built as a modern aero road wheel platform, with each rim depth serving a different rider profile. The 50mm is the lightweight all-rounder, the 60mm is the fast road and breakaway option, and the 85mm is the deep-section speed weapon for time trial and triathlon riders.

25mm Internal Rim Width

A 25mm internal rim width is a key modern road feature. It gives wider tyres better casing support, improves cornering stability and allows lower pressures for better comfort and grip on rough Australian chip seal. This is especially useful with 28mm, 30mm and 32mm road tyres.

Hook Bead Construction

The hook bead rim design supports a secure tyre interface and broad road tyre compatibility when installed correctly. This is a practical feature for riders who want performance tyre flexibility rather than being locked into a narrow tyre compatibility list.

VONOA Carbon and Titanium Spokes

The VONOA carbon and titanium spokes are designed to reduce weight while improving lateral stiffness and responsiveness. Compared with many conventional steel spoke wheelsets, carbon spokes can give a sharper, more immediate ride feel under acceleration and out-of-saddle efforts.

Overfast EVO Hub System

The Overfast EVO hub platform is designed for premium road disc builds and supports the key freehub standards used on high-end road bikes. A quality hub system is essential for smooth rolling, drivetrain compatibility and long-term serviceability.

Purpose-Specific Aero Depths

The three rim depths allow riders to choose based on terrain and performance goal. The 50mm version suits riders wanting one light race wheelset, the 60mm version suits riders chasing more speed on rolling routes, and the 85mm version suits aero-focused riders targeting flat speed and time trials.

Modern Wide-Tyre Optimisation

The Aerion EVO platform is designed around the trend toward wider road tyres. Wider tyres can reduce rolling resistance, improve comfort and increase confidence on rough roads when paired with the right pressure and rim width.

28mm tyres: Best for aero road speed and racing
30mm tyres: Excellent all-round choice for Australian road surfaces
32mm tyres: Strong option for endurance comfort and rougher chip seal
35mm-plus tyres: Only where frame and fork clearance allow, more all-road focused than pure road racing

Model Selection Guide:

Choose 50mm for climbing, racing, bunch rides and all-round road use
Choose 60mm for fast rides, rolling terrain, solo efforts and aero road builds
Choose 85mm for flat speed, triathlon, time trial and maximum aero advantage
